To avoid getting blood clots in your legs, stop taking birth control pills, stop smoking cigarettes, and after surgery, remain active (avoid complete bed rest). To minimize bleeding during and after surgery, avoid taking Aspirin or any ASA medication and most anti-inflammatory medications. You should also abstain from drinking alcohol and participating in strenuous activity during this time. If you are not in good medical condition, you probably should not have cosmetic surgery. Consult with your doctor. Is it painful? Most cosmetic procedures aren't very painful, and all pain can be controlled with appropriate medications.
