Facelift Header

Aging is unavoidable, but a youthful look is a choice. Looking at our face in the mirror every morning reminds us of aging - sagging of the cheeks, deepening of the cheek folds, jowls or loss of a well-defined jaw line, and wrinkles. Every day, many men and women choose to erase these signs of aging.

There are many ways to erase the signs of aging, however none offer the results that a Facelift can. One may elect to have filling material injected in wrinkles, laser resurfacing or peeling, and all these techniques may indeed postpone a facelift. However, when fat needs to be sculptured, muscles to be repositioned and excess skin removed, nothing will do it but a facelift. Facelifts are adapted to each face, whether to correct sagging brows, frown lines, crowsfeet, sagging cheeks (to restore cheekbone highlights), cheek folds, sagging malar fat pads, removing jowls to give back a nice jaw line, or to restore to a youthful configuration an aging neck (fat deposit, neck bands and loose skin).

A facelift rejuvenates the face by lifting the sagging cheeks to highlight the cheekbones, by tightening the facial and neck muscles, by reestablishing the tight and smooth jaw line, by lessening the cheek folds, and by removing excess facial and neck skin.

Incisions are hidden in the natural contour of your ear, behind it and in the hair bearing skin.No scar will really shows. The skin is then separated from the underlying tissue, facial muscles are tightened, cheeks'fat pads are elevated, and redundant skin is removed. If neck bands are present, a small incision under the chin enables Dr Frenette to correct this situation.. It is common to correct aging of the eyes and/or sagging eyebrows along with a facelift by eyelid rejuvenation (blepharoplasty) and a forehead lift. Dr Frenette always handles the different tissues with gentle care and aims to achieve a natural pleasing result. No patient will look "plastic"or "overdone".

Local or general anesthesia may be used. Swelling and bruising will be present in the first two weeks. However many patients return to work after 10 to 15 days. No scar is noticeable after a few weeks. With the patient's cooperation, and under the care of a qualified plasticsurgeon, risks are minimal. Facelifts set back the clock, but aging will continue, and you may want to repeat the procedure 5 to 10 years later (usually a less extensive procedure by then). Even one facelift will save you years. This change will last and you will always look younger than if you never had a face-lift. It will restore the natural youthful look you had many years ago.  More>>>
