![]() A Browlift or forehead lift restores a youthful appearance around the eyes. It corrects drooping brows, which can make people look sad and tired, and corrects horizontal lines in the forehead. It corrects frown lines that make people look angry or concerned. It can attenuate crowsfeet. Traditionally done through a long incision in the hair or partially in front of the hairline, it can now be performed with the use of the endoscope. This miniature camera enables Dr Frenette to perform the operation through tiny incisions - i.e., 3 to 5 one centimetre incisions hidden in the hair. With special instruments, forehead skin and muscles are detached from the underlying bone, frown muscles (corrugators) removed or weakened, and nerves spared. Very small hidden scars, preserved skin sensation and a much easier recovery are just a few of the advantages. Browlift is often performed alone or with a facelift and/or eyelids (blepharoplasty) surgery. It adds enormously to the rejuvenating effect of a facelift or blepharoplasty. It brings about a more balanced correction of the aging face.
Not every facelift needs to be an extensive procedure of four hours duration, which addresses every possible elements of aging. Many people only require some part of the face to be corrected, such as the jowls, the neck or just the midface. In this situation, an endoscopic midface lift would be the right choice of procedure. Dr Frenette evaluates every candidate and adapts the right procedure to each patient's very personal situation. Mini facelift is a smaller operation that involves less operating time, is limited to a small portion of the face or neck only, and thus brings about much less inconvenience. Depending on the extent of the mini lift, some patients are able to go back to work the following day. Costs are lower accordingly.
