Nose Reshaping Header

Nose Reshaping (rhinoplasty) is the ultimate operation that can change the life of a human being though it is not the purpose of it. Any group of age will consult for a nose reshaping, the young generation (over 17) being the largest group to do so. Many will consult for hump removal or " out of proportion " correction, while many will for subtle refinement of an already acceptable nose. Rhinoplasty is done under local or general anesthesia, either way being a matter of personal choice. The operation lasts about an hour to an hour and a half. Tape and splint must be worn for a period of about ten days. Nasal packing is not used unless an extensive septal correction is done to improve breathing. Pain is surprisingly almost absent. Patients can go back to social life and work within 10 to 15 days, time for the bruises to dissipate.
The final result may not be seen before the healing process ends i.e. between3 to 6 months. The early result at 2 weeks, however, is already pleasing and satisfying.
The nose is reshaped to harmonious relationships with its own components. On profile, upper third is put in relation with tip projection and forehead angle, length with facial dimensions .The angle between nose and upper lip is slightly opened. On front view, narrow bones with refined tip to create a gentle curve extending the orbital curve to the nostrils.
It is as much important to reshape the nose to harmonious relationship with other facial features and proportions. In this respect, chin and/or cheekbones may occasionally need to be corrected with the rhinoplasty.
